These are students of daily wages. They are from under privileged background. Many of them go for part time jobs to support their family needs when they do their studies. They don't even eat two meals a day. Many of their homes don't have proper basic facility. At least 40% students are single parented. 

Initially when I started my training at Government Arts College, Thiruverambhur, Trichy I used to be so upset listening to their stories. But then slowly I understood that these kids don't need our sympathy but instead they need people to understand and guide them towards clarity.

When I understood this, I started stooping down to their level. I made them feel that I am friendly. Today's youth trust their friends than anybody else in the world. So when I become their friend figure they were able to accept my views.  

I feel this as a blessing for the main reason that at the end of my 40 hours sessions on Employability and Life Skills all the students would come up saying that they have become more confident. Sessions particularly on body language, manners & behaviour have given them more confidence to face the society with better clarity.

Clarity brings Confidence.

It is not what you say but how you say matters a lot with these kids too.
