A place for everything, and everything in its place….

21 Apr 2021

The other day I didn’t put back my file in its usual place and ended up searching for it for a very long time when I needed it. All the while hoping that all my belongings should have GPS on them so that finding them will be a lot easier.

When the search operation began and irritations ran high….. When I lost my patience and all my energy was drained, I tried to be very positive by thinking “I hope the file is happy in its new environment”.

I am so organized that sometimes I take things one step ahead and feel the need to keep things even more safely, but forget where the new safe place is and when I need them,,,,,,, it leads to more searching and the cycle continues….

The moment I lose my cool, all the intelligent quotes I read comes to my mind….

That’s how I got the title for this blog… A place for everything, and everything in its place by Benjamin Franklin

Mess equals unclean to the subconscious mind – Chrissy Halton.

Fail to plan, plan to fail – Winston Churchill.

Organizing is what you do before you do something, so that when you do it, it’s not all mixed up – A. A. Milne.

And as I am pulling out things and looking for what I want from scratch, my only way of being positive is my promise to stay organized henceforth….realizing, this is where setting up the right systems to find things makes our life easier by saving a lot of time and energy.

Along with systems and routines, habits are important to stay organized and everything should have a place and be put in the same place every single time becauseorganizing is a journey, not a destination.

As I said I am a very organized person in general and particular that things have to be in its allotted place and have made it a strict rule to be followed by everyone around me…Even though I end up not following my own rule sometimes…

Maybe because it’s an ongoing process or my overconfidence or trust in my ability to remember things when I need them. Whatever I am searching for no matter who has misplaced it, what I have to always do is….. blame it on my poor memory.

But Albert Einstein’s quote makes me feel positive and happy in this context that “organized people are just too lazy to go looking for what they want.” And this makes me glad that “I am not lazy”……….
