Meraki
Published: Nov 17th, 2020 05:32 amI saw the above image on my Instagram page and was
curious to know what it actually meant.
I just googled to know the meaning and instantly fell
in love with this word Meraki.
Meraki
is a Greek Word and according to Urban Dictionary it means “Doing something with soul, creativity, or love – when you put
“something of yourself” into what you’re doing, whatever it may be.
When we do something that we love, we will surely put
an extra bit of ourselves into it. It means to put in our complete energy and
focus on it with happiness. Like spending time with our loved ones, travelling
to our favorite destination, planning a party or anything fun.
But what happens when we have to do our regular day today
boring job or chores at home? Do we enjoy it with the same enthusiasm or is it
like a forced to-do list?
This made me think “Is it possible to do the same for
activities that we don’t enjoy”?
This is where
mindfulness plays a key role. By practicing and doing things with Meraki you can
do things differently and certainly leave a bit of yourself in everything you
do for people around you to notice.
Adding an
essence of yourself to everything you do is a wonderful way to enjoy what you
do.
